This is a wonderful list I found from the Primary English Consultancy. It is filled with questions for you to use with your child before, during, and after reading a book. It is broken up into Year 1 and Year 2 to help you gage the depth of understanding and ability your child may have within the National Curriculum 2016 study standards. I intend to send a modified version home for you to keep and use!
This is just a guide and each child will respond to each book differently based on their interest and understanding of what they are reading.
Other Year 2 Resources
Mental maths can be tricky for some children. However, developing speed and fluency with basic maths facts helps them tackle the tougher world problems. At the same time, I want more than simple memorizing numbers. It's important for children to understand the concept of when they 'do' the math! One way tho help children at home is by using real examples and maths vocabulary when you are organsing at home, shopping and such!
